While climate, geography, grapes, and winemaking techniques all play important roles in the wine that ends up in your glass, soil is equally as important.  And it often gets overlooked because it’s, well, soil.  It’s dirty.  It’s not glamourous.  But vineyard sites are often selected for their coveted soils and some of the best regions in the world are what they are because of the land the vines grow on.

We’re getting to the root of the issue in our April wine class!  We’ll learn about some of the most sought after soils in the world like volcanic soil, coastal soil, limestone, silex.  We’ll taste premium wines from these diverse terroirs which represent what are arguably the best sites in the world.
